About Melissa
I was born and raised in a small town in Oregon, but always saw myself in a bigger city. For most of my adult life I lived in the Portland Metro area, but just recently my fiancé Sam and I decided to go on an adventure to the Bay Area, California!
I have a couple autoimmune conditions and was officially diagnosed with celiac in 2012, but I have been gluten free for over a decade and let me tell you, things have gotten easier and harder at the same time. There are more options, but also more of a chance of cross contamination from people who see a gluten free lifestyle as a choice.
During my move and beyond I wanted to have a project where I combined my passions for beauty, self care rituals, and delicious gluten free food while I am away from my "day job" of practicing Acupuncture and Aesthetics so I decided to write about my adventures.
As a side note: I have always had a love-hate relationship with the beauty industry because the western standards of beauty have never made sense to me. I’ve always believed that everyone deserves to be comfortable in their own skin, and to feel amazing and beautiful.
In my practice and in my life am committed to Health At Every SizeⓇ (HAESⓇ) and intuitive eating principles.
I really hope we can get to know each other soon!
Cheers,
Melissa
